Topsy-turvey weather

It's currently snowing now (YES!!!) but for almost a week we were dealing with the fallout from a warm front, chinook winds and rain. Yes, rain in Alaska in January. Most of our wonderful snow melted and then refroze into sheets of slick ice.

The photo below is no joke - even our neighborhood street looked just like this. School and many businesses closed down on Monday - even D got the day off! I made sure to put my ice cleats on my shoes so I wouldn't take a nasty fall with Boyd in my arms.

So far we've received a couple inches of snow at our house and I am itching to go x-c skiing this weekend with my boys!
