Video: Shoveling & sledding - 24 months

We have a couple of snow shovels to use at the house and the biggest one is best for scooping large amounts of snow at once, like on the driveway or back deck. Boyd's idea of helping is to ride in the scoop and then get dumped into the snow bank.

Boyd - 2nd birthday

Since Boyd's birthday is on Valentine's Day, D and I forwent our usual holiday tradition of dinner out and instead celebrated the birthday with my mom and sister at our house. You will notice that the quality of these photos is far superior to what I usually post. We borrowed Gabe's fancy Canon to take these (he was on the Slope working during the party)...

Here is the recap from his 1st birthday celebration last year.

Gifts - what a lucky boy!

I made Boyd his own special cake to dig into, along with a mini bunting banner.
The heart cakes for everyone else.

New shopping cart we purchased for Boyd. He really loves the one at a local play place so it was a no-brainer to get him one for his birthday.

I am so happy that we reorganized the living room. It's so much more space for us to stretch out and play.

Eating one of his favorite foods - rice!

My mom outdid herself yet again with the menu. We enjoyed brown rice and beans, kalbi (Korean-style spare ribs), Asian noodles, and spring rolls.

A yearly tradition: the "I AM..." shirt.

Started a new tradition - the birthday crown! From IKEA, of course.

Digging into the cake, dainty as usual.

Awesome new hat from Grandma & Grandpa Patrick! And in Boyd's signature green color, too. :-)

He was so into these shells from his Grandparents too - all the way from Florida.

He's still a bit young for backpacks, but I couldn't resist this adorable fox from Skip Hop.

My wonderful friend and college roommate Emily (and her girls) sent Boyd a super cool magnifying glass set, along with a bucket of little bugs, to explore.

A Melissa & Doug construction set from me - he really liked this one.

Happy birthday, sweet boy!

Every day I'm shovelin'

After a dry spell with no snow, it finally arrived in the form of a few inches last week. D had to work overtime Tuesday and Wednesday, so Boyd and I were outside for an hour after work one day to do the driveway and front steps. He had so much fun running around and "helping" me clear the driveway. He kept yelling "MAMA" in excitement and saying "noooooo" which is his word for snow.

These days I can't take a photo without Boyd wanting to be in it!

My assistant would pick up little chunks of snow and deposit them in the shovel.
