Moose visit

We usually see moose in the yard a few times each winter. Even though moose are huge beasts and very tall, I'm always amazed that they manage to scale the high fences in Anchorage neighborhoods. This one was hanging out next door and perfectly content to bed down for a while.

I climbed up on the porch railing to get a better look.

Totally could care less that I was there!
Although moose roam city streets and neighborhoods, they are still wild animals and not to be messed with. A little boy was kicked by a moose last week and this idiot tried to pet one in Town Square. Sigh.

Maui 6

Some more random photos from our trip...

Such a fabulous view from our place in Lahaina. I heard this side of the island sustained some damage to the harbor and buildings from the tsunami caused by the earthquake in Japan.
Plumeria flower.

Heart!

So I got papaya and mango mixed up at the grocery store. This is papaya, which isn't as sweet as a mango. Still good for breakfast though.
D was able to bring home some tuna from his fishing trip. I like mine seared on the outside, raw on the inside, with a little soy sauce. He cooked his all the way through.
