Summer, what summer?

Our summer went by much too fast -- it seems like just yesterday that D and I took one of our many trips to Whittier. It's mid-October and the snows have come a couple times now. These photos are from this past Labor Day, where Friday and Saturday found us enjoying some of the (very) few nice days. The unbelievably beautiful and hot weather was certainly welcome...

Fairly calm seas -- I believe that is Blackstone Bay below.

I caught a HUGE red snapper (yellow-eye) while fishing for halibut off the boat. And yes, it was delish.

We waded around in these little pools to cool off in the heat.

Sunday's weather was less than ideal. Rough seas and rain. But we did manage to get plenty of shrimp and even a little crab.

Think we have enough shrimp?
